Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!!!!

I can't believe it is Thanksgiving already!!! Seems like it was just summertime a few short weeks ago and I was just getting used to my new store. Now everyone has gotten to know me or at least gotten used to me and I love it there :). I'm not sure I want to go back to Southport when it reopens, I love my boss at Western Ave. and my co-workers are a blast :D. Not that I don't miss my old co-workers...I miss them a ton! Especially Marygene, Janet, Doris, Miguel and CJ. I do have Dave, Jeanette and Fred with me at my store to keep me company lol.

This past month has been been veryyyyy busy and I am now getting 4-5 days a week. Which I am very thankful for. Heck I am just thankful to have a job these days! I worked 10-2 today and am now ready to shlep Greg and myself over to my Mom's for dinner :D.

So I hope that all of you reading this and all my friends have the Happiest of Thanksgivings! Don't eat too much cos you gotta save some for me ;).

P.S. I love you Greg, I am thankful for you everyday xxxx.

Are some of my comments being deleted on my posts? Cos in my post about Zombieland my response to [info]el_jefe59 and his response seems to have disappeared. Or maybe my compy is fucked.

I have just one thing to say.

PPPPFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTTT :-P!

This seriously has to be a new record! Gotta love renewed interest in things I have abandoned for so long :).

Not too much happened over the weekend because I worked both Sat. and Sun. I did get to see my former boss lady Ivett and receiving clerk Glenn from Southport over at the Western Ave. Jewel on Saturday :D. They weren't together which made it even more of a conicedence lol. I saw Ivett first as I was getting ready to punch out and was so excited we gave each other a big hug! After work we went to eat at Whole Foods where we met up with Mother Gregula and Rey.

Yesterday I had to work 1-6 which meant no time to do anything :|. It was busy. I was glad to be there because the Bears sucked harder than a three-dollar ho and would have been depressed watching the game. Went to KFC/Taco Bell and got food for dinner cos there was nothing I wanted at work and Big Boy was closed.

Today I'm working 5-9. I'm kinda glad to be working the evening shift for a change, sick of looking at the HS kids lol.

I'm forgetful, but not THAT forgetful!!!

We got kind of a late start as G. was a bit tired from being out late on Thursday. Also there was a serious lack o' things to do with the passing of Halloween :(.

We decided to eat at Whole Foods in Lincoln Park and then see an 11:30 pm showing of "The Stepfather" at the Crown Village 18 Kerasotes in Skokie. It was kinda weird being in a theater that I have never been to before. They show movies really late there, there was all kinds of midnight showings last nite!

Only annoying thing was a goofy manager demanding to see our ticket because we had wanted to see what the larger theater looked like inside. If I was gonna freakin sneak into a movie I wouldn't be leaving during the middle of it! And Ms. Manager didn't even get the name of the movie right it wasn't the Michael Jackson one it was "The Box". PFFT.

I finally got around to putting up my Halloween icons!

I also finally got around to another update. LOL.

I wish there were more Halloween parties to go to. This year seems to be seriously lacking in the party department :(.

I also wish that G. would get over being sick :(.

Perhaps "YAY!" was the wrong subject for this post.

Not to mention feeling a bit grumpy and slightly depressed lately. I self-medicate with junk food and music these days, don't spend a whole lot of time on the 'net. I haven't even bothered with Mafia Wars and Vampire Wars on Facebook and barely post on my main page.

YouTube has been my friend as of late.

Ok, got the rant(ish) out of the way lol.

Count Gregula's BirfdayPalooza 2009 was a smash! I may have mentioned some of these activities in other posts but I'm gonna say them again so ner :p. Especially since I need to keep the timeline intact lol. It all began on Thursday night before his bday when we went to see a sneak preview of "Pandorum" which was a pretty good time AND was free. Then on Friday we all celebrated at Wishbone in Berwyn (BERRRWYN!) at dinner with our friends Ron & Angie :).

The weekend was actually not very exciting as we both had to work.

Monday was spent hanging out at Sports Authority browsing the weights then a few Halloween stores. I treated him to a meal at Sweet Tomatoes as he had a BOGO coupon :D.

Tuesday was spent shopping for Bday gifts with Mother G. and Rey, then a trip out to White Fence Farm to eat yummy fried chicken :D.

On Gregula's actual Birthday we went to Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm to spend the day and then went to Haunted Trails and Harrah's Casino in Joliet. I bought four mini pumpkins, a multicolored light plastic jack o' lantern for G. and a laughing bat toy for myself :D. It was a lot of fun!

Happy Birthday To My BOO xoxoxox!!!!!

UNBELEIVEABLE.

I absolutely cannot believe it is nearly the end of September! The trees are starting to turn yellow and gold and leaves falling down like snow. It sure is a pretty time of year!

This past weekend started on Thursday afternoon with a trip to Sweet Tomatoes as [info]count_gregula had a coupon for a free meal with purchase for his birthday. Afterwards we went downtown to the AMC River East to see a free sneak preview of "Pandorum" which was actually very good. Not to mention that parking across the street from the theatre was only EIGHT bucks with theatre validation...sweeeeeeeeet!!

Then on Friday we went to Wishbone in Berwyn (BERRRRRWYN!) for the inaugural celebration of Count Gregula's BirfdayPalooza 2009 Week! The food was good, the drinks were delicious and our waiter Bruce was awesome as always!

Saturday was teh suck cos I had to work at the Jewelz 10:30-6:30, but it was my last day before my week's vacation and now it's all good!

I can't remember what we did on Sunday, I'm sure it was fun but sheesh...

Monday was a Whole Foods day with a viewing of "Sorority Row" in the evening followed by the ending of "Inglourious Basterds" cos we weren't ready to go home afterwards lol. Sorority Row was not bad but it does have a twisted ending which slightly annoyed me but oh well :).

Today (now yesterday) we went to eat at Capn Nemo's, purchased Bday gifts for the mister and went to White Fence Farm to eat fried chicken with Mother Gregula and Rey. They have a petting zoo with....chickens! Kinda weird and creepy as we pictured them being on our plates afterwards *waits for the PETA crowd to assault me* lol.

Holy crap, have I been on this thing 5 years????

I know I haven't been on here much due to other new and exciting social networking websites vying for my attention. But I always come back home to my LiveJournal, it's like an old friend :). Seems like just yesterday I made my first post and now here we are 5 years later. Amazing how much everything in our lives have changed since then!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!!

Count Gregula's Crypt
This has been a very productive and busy weekend!

Thursday nite I had to work 4-8 so we went to Whole Foods for breakfast and had their breakfast burritos which are very tasty and filling. They were full of potatoes, eggs, cheese, veggies and salsa. Not sure if it is the healthiest option but it's prolly better than eating at McNasty's. After work we had considered going to see a movie but all the movies on the Five Buck Club were films we had either seen or didn't want to be bothered with.

Friday I had to take [info]count_gregula to Burnham, IL because he had been asked to play "Biker #2" in a friend's movie Masters Devils. The filming location was this hole-in-the-wall bar in a slightly creepy area (which was PERFECT for the movie btw) called Tally Ho. I dropped him off and drove back to the city in horrific traffic. When I finally got back to the city I went to D'Agostino's to meet up with my former workmates from Southport to eat pizza which was a good time. BTW even tho I am getting attached to my new store, I still miss them all, espcially Miguel and Marygene. I sure hope I can go with them for pizza again soon but Greg doesn't like to eat pizza cos it's not healthy so I gotta do it when he is doing other things ;).

Saturday I needed to take him back for more filming and this time I would stick around. But first we needed to eat so we went to the Lincoln Park Whole Foods to get dinner off the hot deli bar and I had a small piece of tamale pie and something called king ranch casserole off the Mexican favorites dishes. Then we went to the bar where Greg filmed his part and we watched the devil girls film as well. Some kid came into the bar to buy candy and when he opened the door and saw those devil girls his eyes nearly fell out of his head! It was totally a LOLtastic moment! Afterwards we went to the casino and Greg won $8 on the Munsters slots :).

Sunday I had to work so we bascially stayed in and relaxed til I had to leave the house, ate some food from Big Boy Gyros.

Monday (yesterday) I had off so I took G. to the fitness centre and afterwards we went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. We decided to check to see if any of the Halloween stores were open yet so we went to Village Crossing in Skokie to check out the Spirit store. We were glad it was open this time and were excited to visit the FIRST Halloween store of the season! The decor was a bit disappointing, entry looked a tad empty but I have a feeling that it is not quite finished yet. They had some cool merchandise, including a Rob Zombie's Michael Meyers life-size animated figure that G. is currently lusting after. Where the hell are we gonna put something like that in our 3-room condo? LOL. The salesperson kept following us and asking if we needed any help which was annoying but I figured he must have been bored as it seemed like a slow day there. We were gonna browse the Halloween USA store across the parking lot but it closed at 8 pm, same time as Spirit. Oh well we got our Halloween fix and we will probably go back either tomorrow or Thursday when I get off work :D.

Time goes by soooo fast these days.

Wow! I can't believe it is already the end of the 2nd week of September! Where the heck did Summer go??? At least I don't have to return to school, only work for me. Our vacation will be coming up in a couple weeks, this will be our first week off straight together :D. Now we just gotta figure out someplace fun (and cheap) to go.

Last weekend was pretty good, went to see "District 9" on Thursday nite after a yummy meal at Sweet Tomatoes. On Friday we went to Buffalo Grove Days and sampled some smoothies from this new restaurant called Froots which were awesome. I was disappointed that there wasn't any Froots locations closer to our home but I did find out on Monday at the Taste of Polonia that there will be one in Lincoln Park hopefully by the end of the year...yay!

Taste of Polonia was fun but would have been funner if we didn't get sunburned =|. We ate some yummy Polish food and watched Rick "Elvis" Saucedo in his annual Labor Day concert. We also scored quite a bit of freebies including three boxes of Special K 90 calorie crackers in Italian Herb and Tomato flavor. Very yum!

More about the past few days coming up in the next post so stay tuned!

Happy Labor Day All!!!

Adventures In Phone Shopping Part 2

OK, since I wasn't able to get my phone on Tuesday because I had to work, we decided to once again go phone shopping yesterday. Since I had the day off we had plenty of time to get there, especially cos we were wasting time watching funny YouTube videos on Greg's new phone.

This time we went to the T-Mobile store in Lincoln Park as opposed to the one in Lakeview becos of the possiblity of the Samsung T239 in burgundy red still being in stock. When we got there we noticed that this store had a much bigger selection of phones than the one we went to on Tuesday. I also checked out the Samsung Gravity in aqua/white. I have to say I was a bit tempted by the Gravity, for 10 dollars more I could get a phone with a slideout QWERTY keyboard. Very nice if I was a mad texter, but since I don't text much AND my phone was in stock (YAY) I decided to go with the T239.

OMG I love my new phone! It's an awesome color (a pearly burgundy) and has a camera!!! I also like that it is a slider phone instead of a flip so no chance of it falling apart at the hinge. A major plus is that it is really compact and I don't need to slide out the number keypad to make calls as long as they are in my phonebook. Sweet :D.

Afterwards we treated ourselves to dinner at Whole Foods and watched "Grease" on the rooftop as part of their 1950s themed day.

Adventures In Phone Shopping Pt. 1

So we've been phone shopping the last couple days.

We had gotten kind of a late start on Tuesday afternoon becos the mister was tired so by the time we hit the bank to deposit money it was already after 3 and we didn't get to the T-Mobile store until nearly 4. We spent nearly an hour trying to decide on which phones we wanted. Greg was especially indecisive as he was very much interested in the MyTouch G3 but wasn't sure. In the meantime I was browsing the less expensive phones and decided on the Samsung T239, which would only set me back $19.99 plus upgrade fee.

Greg decided to go with the MyTouch G3 as it had similar properties to the I-Phone (which he fell in love with last year). Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my phone then becos the Lakeview T-Mobile store didn't have the model I wanted in stock. The sales girl was nice enough to call up the Lincoln Park location to see if they had one (they did) but I didn't have enough time to go becos time kept going by quickly and it was almost time to go to work and I didn't want to be late. I was irritated because of not getting the phone, possibly being late to work and not eating anything for most of the day. So we finally got done by 5:35 which allowed me to go home and get my uniform so I could be at work by 6.

I worked 6-10 (always fun :P) and took G. to work.

Hey LOOK, it's an update!!!

Holy crap! I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last journal entry!!!

I also can't believe it is already September :O! Where the hell has summer gone??? I'm very pissed off about not having enough warm days this year, GRRRRR at rain and cold! At least today is sunny.

Well I've been keeping pretty busy, even tho I am only getting minimum hours at work. Seriously, the past couple weeks I had FIVE days off in a row and my 12 hours combined into two days. UGH, I cannot live on only 12 hours!!! But I did get two raises, the union upgrade in July and my latest 6-month increase last week. So I'm making 8.65 an hour, not too bad and it softens the blow of only working minimal hours.

Payroll cutting sucks beyond belief!

So, Greg and I have been filling the time with taking me to Kiddieland for the very first time and probably the last time in my life because the fuckers who own it are fighting over the land and want to close after the end of the season. ARGH and it is the closest amusement park to our house too! We have also seen "Inglourious Basterds" (which was AWESOME) and "H2: Halloween 2" (which was NOT awesome).

BTW I'm gonna fill in the last part of this entry with bitching about my phone. Stupid thing broke a couple weeks ago and I've been fairly incommunicado. Very annoying!!! And Greg's phone decided to break as well so now we have to go to the T-Mobile store and get our phones upgraded so we don't have to pay an arm and a leg and a foot. I wish he would wake up now ARGH lol!
