Here be the weekend stuffs:
Thursday was lunch at our usual fave Chinese place, Wah Sun, then we ran some errands before going off to Horseshoe Casino on the bus from Harlem/Foster Plaza. We were disappointed to find out that our favorite slots had been removed in favor of newer machines, so no more Munsters slots for us (boo :P). Howeva, we have now discovered the evils of video poker, mwahahaha...we love it cos it doesn't suck up our cash so fast and it is a challenge to play. My favorite is deuces wild...good thing I paid attention when my Daddy had his poker games LOL!
Friday we went to the Spring Festival arts & crafts fair at the Odeum in Villa Park, which was lotsa fun. There were free food samples, got to try out dips and "secret peanuts". We enjoyed entertainment in the food court, ate some egg rolls and participated in a free wine tasting *yummy*. I was tempted to buy a bat-shaped wooden hair barrette, but at $10.95 it was a bit too rich for my blood, and I don't care if it was made of ebony wood - I just can't see spending that kind of money on a hair accessory :(. I might end up getting it next time anyway cos I'm so obsessed with bat stuffs LOL. We did pick up a mango-peach scented soap at one of the crafters booths. After the festival closed, we went to Safari Land cos we were in the area. Originally, the plan was to eat dinner there but we got fed up with waiting in line behind these dummies who had no freakin idea what they wanted to order, they kept hollering "what kinda pop you want?" and stuff like that. VERY annoying! We ended up playing a lot of Crazy Taxi and pinball, then went to the new Hooters in Melrose Park for a late nite snack of chicken tenders and a chicken breast sandwich for Greg. Hahaha, very appropriate to eat breast at Hooters ;).
Yesterday we went to Pita Inn for dinner and I have to say that Hummus is Yummus (TM)!!! Greg had his usual chicken shewirma, while I had the chicken tender entree (which Greg coveted, lol) on pita bread, and we also shared a hummus appetizer with more pita bread...mmmmmmmm....*homer drool*. We went to Barnes & Noble afterwards to read magazines and bum around before I took Greg to work.
Today was a lay-low day...summer has finally arrived and it was too warm out to bother doing anything, not to mention that Greg was exhausted from work babysitting a bunch of drunks that kept going in and out of the building all nite becos of a party that was going on :P. We did get some Wendy's salads for dinner and I watched VH1 alllll day hahaha.
I'm going to bed now so talk to you all laters!

A little bat info for you: During the War Between the States, bat guano was collected in the South to make gunpowder to repel you damn Yankees. Pretty cool (and clever), don't you think? That's when the units that used them were first called battalions *lol*
I can see people googling this fact to see if it's real or all in my head. The second part I did make up. ;-)
